Thurra achieves UKAS accreditation for Inspection services

After months of compliance work, due diligence, and assessments we have been awarded UKAS accreditation.

UKAS is a globally recognised, peer-reviewed and government endorsed recognition of standards and competency.

Having this level of accreditation provides Thurra’s customers with complete satisfaction of their inspection provider, especially reassuring when entrusting an organisation to inspect potentially life-threatening equipment such as lifting equipment and pressure equipment.

Technical Director Richard Lewis, Quality Manager Rob Schofield and Technical Manager Ian Armstrong worked tirelessly to implement the systems, processes and documentation to qualify for the high standards required by this prestigious accreditation.

“We were confident we would meet the standard” commented Richard Lewis, Technical Director “but it was a real team effort to pull everything together and work closely with the UKAS team to achieve the accreditation. It means the world to us all to get this seal of approval and endorsement from an organisation like UKAS.”

UKAS is the sole national accreditation body in the UK and is responsible for assessing and accrediting the competence of conformity assessment bodies, such as engineering inspection businesses. UKAS is mandated by Secretary of State for Business and Trade and is licensed to use the Royal Crown for accreditation.
